Program Stages and Awards
| APPLICANTS | All Wendy’s High School Heisman applicants will be able to download a printable certificate from the website. |
SCHOOL WINNERS |
1 male and 1 female from each school will be chosen as School Winners. Those winners will have a letter, certificate and Heisman patch mailed to their school to present to them. |
| STATE FINALISTS | From all male and female school winners, 1,020 State Finalists will be chosen (20 from each state, including District of Columbia). Each finalist will have a letter, bronze medal and a Heisman patch mailed to them. |
| STATE WINNERS | From the 1,020 State Finalists, 102 State Winners are chosen (1 male and 1 female from each state, including District of Columbia). Each winner will have a letter, silver medal and Heisman patch mailed to them. |
NATIONAL FINALIST |
Out of the 102 State Winners, a judging panel selects 12 National Finalists – 1 male and 1 female from each of six geographic regions. These students are invited to the Wendy’s High School Heisman National Awards Banquet on December 8, 2006, in New York City. They also will attend all Heisman Memorial Trophy Weekend festivities, receive a gold medal and Heisman patch, and their high schools will receive a $2,000 monetary award in their name. |
NATIONAL WINNERS |
Two National Award Winners, 1 male and 1 female, are selected from the 12 National Finalists, and are honored during ESPN’s national telecast of the college Heisman Memorial Trophy presentation. Each National Winner receives a Wendy’s High School Heisman trophy, a Heisman patch, and a $10,000 monetary award for their High School. |
