Plans After High School:
“My immediate plan after high school is to take time to travel
with my family to Europe and in the US. I will begin to train for
college cross country, but on foreign soil and in cool weather, and,
for the first time in 4 years, no longer at 5 A.M. As a collegiate
athlete, I look forward to training to a level where I will contribute
to my team winning a major title. I will explore an education in perhaps
sports psychology or exercise physiology, but am excited about considering
several academic opportunities my first few years and really thinking
about where I want my studies to take me. After college, I intend
to continue my training so that I can compete in running at a professional
level. I hope to combine my passion for the sport with my education
to mentor younger female athletes. I will always be involved in the
running world, but also look forward to returning to some of the things
I have had to sacrifice for my running career, like soccer, perhaps
as a coach or as a parent. Regardless, my short and long term plans
include combining my love for my sport with an education that will
allow me to pursue my passions and dreams.”
